Why wide-eyed wonder?

Disadvantaged and vulnerable children often miss out on the benefits of experiencing the wide-eyed wonder of live performing arts. We help improve access.

We provide programs that bring fun and wonder to children while, incidentally, helping them to develop communication skills, emotional intelligence and community bonds. We strive everyday to support children through child-centred approaches to program delivery.

FUN & WONDER

Wide-Eyed Wonder is all about promoting the value of pure fun, joy, smiles, laughter and ‘wonder’ – all so incredibly important for health and happiness. Experiencing wide-eyed wonder benefits children, their families and their communities. Given the challenges these kids are forced to experience, they deserve nothing less.

COMMUNICATION BENEFITS

Experiencing live performing arts exposes children to new vocabulary and ways of communicating and
interacting. It gives them a stronger command of plot and fuels their imagination to grow, create, think, and play.

EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE

Quality theatre productions provide children with greater tolerance, a better understanding of different
cultures and an improved ability to read the emotions of others. Live performance, attended as a family or group, can also strengthen family bonds, community relationships and a child’s sense of belonging.
