We all agree that children deserve to experience the joy, excitement and intrigue that comes from live performing arts and theatre. That’s why you’re here! But the reality is that many children miss out. Wide-Eyed Wonder exists to help change that.
Join us to:
- Bring children’s performances to disadvantaged and vulnerable communities.
- Bring disadvantaged and vulnerable children to theatres and live entertainment events.
It’s finally time to open the theatre doors to children who would otherwise be left outside.
As part of our launch, you can help bring three powerful, joy-filled live performance projects to children. Become a Wonder Funder with a regular gift, or give a one off gift now – and then again whenever it suits.
1. Indonesia: Storytelling, Puppets and Creativity in Bantar Gebang
In the slum and waste facility area of Ciketing Udik – Bantar Gebang, children of scavenger communities live in extremely difficult conditions with little access to education or joyful experiences. Donate now to bring to their community a free, rare and meaningful day of storytelling, puppetry, arts and crafts led by Puppetaria – a talented community of Indonesian puppeteers – building confidence, sparking creativity, and reminding these children they are seen and valued. DONATE NOW

2. Australia: A Joyful Cultural Celebration in Logan
Donate now to support a free live performance of Nana Magic that will take place in Logan led by proud Kokatha/Mirning performer Uraine Roelofs. While everyone is welcome to attend this community-based event, this uplifting, music-filled show will be offered especially for First Nations children and families in Logan and surrounding communities. With humour, language, song and dance, Nana Magic celebrates culture, imagination, and joy … leaving little hearts full of laughter and pride. DONATE NOW

3. Theatre Tickets and Transport
Donate to Wide-Eyed Wonder to help provide tickets and transport for individuals, families and even entire school groups from disadvantaged backgrounds in Australia and internationally to attend a live, seated theatre show in their local city. Your donation makes it possible for children – who might otherwise miss out – to experience a full theatrical experience and the wonder of live performance, something many others can take for granted. DONATE NOW
The team at Wide-Eyed Wonder and the performers involved can’t wait to share with you stories from these wonderful events for children. Donate now to help make it happen!
Thank you for being part of this from the very beginning. We hope our shared belief that every child deserves wide-eyed wonder inspires you to support our launch projects today.
Always with wide-eyed wonder,
Elissa Jenkins
